Robert Ashton
Robert is an author, entrepreneur, speaker and activist. He is fascinated by people and enjoys helping them become more enterprising. ‘It doesn’t matter if they’re growing a business, starting a social enterprise, or just want to get more out of life’, he says, ‘they’ll get their faster if they’re entrepreneurial in their approach.’ He brings a unique blend of common sense, humour and sound business acumen to SFEDI.
Robert has written a number of best selling books. ‘The Entrepreneur’s Book of Checklists’ was described by the Sunday Times as a book that can go a long way to reducing the sense of panic most people feel when they start a business’. ‘The Life Plan’ was described by Marie Claire magazine as ‘a bite sized book for those big on self improvement but short on time’. Robert also writes for a number of business magazines, including ‘Start your Business’ and ‘Boardroom’.
As well as writing, Robert acts as a catalyst, creating innovative statutory/voluntary/private sector partnerships. He also mentors ambitious entrepreneurs and is a popular speaker at ‘small business’ events.
