Tony Robinson OBE
Tony champions the importance of meeting the learning and skills needs of prospective and existing small and home business owners and driving up the quality of learning and business support for them. He received an OBE for services to small firms and training in 2001. He co-founded and has developed the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative (SFEDI) from 1995, acting firstly as Chief Executive and then, since 1999, as Chairman.
Tony Robinson, OBE is a chartered marketer and HR practitioner by qualification and is a former Managing Director of a £35million FMCG Direct Selling company. Since 1986 Tony has co-owned and managed his own business, BAB Limited/EntrepreneursUK.com (www.entrepreneursuk.com), which specialises in developing and marketing people-focused products and services, particularly learning and skills products and services to entrepreneurs. Tony carries out work for both private and public sector organisations and is a Director of the Centre for Enterprise, Vice President of the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies, Director/Trustee and Vice President for Practice of the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship and Director of Scarborough Enterprise Agency.
In 2007 Tony, on behalf of SFEDI, was appointed to the Ethnic Minority Business Task Group reporting to the Minister, Stephen Timms. He also received in 2007, at an event at the House of Commons, a Special Award for Championing Entrepreneurship in the UK from the International Association of Book keepers.
Tony is in demand as a business writer, facilitator, trainer and
speaker at events, seminars, workshops and conferences. The best selling book he has co-written is
the ‘Essential Guide to Earning a Living from Independent Consultancy’ now available
on CD as ‘The Rat Race Escape Kit’. The second book by Tony’s alter ego,
Leonora Soculitherz is ‘Stripping for Freedom’ which will be published in
