Developing a Qualifications Strategy

In September 2007 SFEDI commenced work on a qualifications strategy for business enterprise (people who start and develop small businesses) and business support (those that support them).

A major research exercise will review existing and collect new evidence on the people running and supporting small businesses and their learning and development needs. If you have any reports, data or other sources of information that could be relevant please notify nigel@stratagia.co.uk

Further information on this major project will appear here shortly.

SFEDI Standards Work 2007

The annual standards plan for 2007 seeks to work within the structure of the existing SFEDI standards. It includes:

Additional Business Enterprise standards for
- running a home based business
- family businesses and succession planning
- informal finance and ethnic minority owned businesses
- female business owners and managing the work-life balance
- international trade

We are currently organising focus groups and interviews to inform the standards development in each of these areas. If this work is of interest please contact caroline@stratagia.co.uk

We are also developing good practice case studies of effective practice based on the SFEDI Enterprise Essentials. For further information please contact nigel@stratagia.co.uk

Business Information standards
These standards are intended primarily for staff in information and similar roles in business support organisations. Following a range of discussion groups and interviews we will shortly commence work on drafting these standards. For further information please contact nigel@stratagia.co.uk
