Accessibility statement

This statement applies to www.sfedi.co.uk. It does not cover other websites we link to, such as the SFEDI Awards website.

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Using this website

This website is run by SFEDI. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. For example, you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate the whole site using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the site using speech recognition software
  • listen to the site using a screen reader

We have also tried to make the text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet (opens in a new tab) has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We built this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. This includes semantic headings, full keyboard use, visible focus and sufficient colour contrast for text, icons and form controls.

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. They are listed under "Known issues".

Known issues

  • The table on our Cookies page is announced by screen readers as an interactive grid, although it only holds information. You may hear extra instructions, but all of the table can be read.
  • On small screens, the table on our Cookies page has to be scrolled sideways inside its box.
  • The security check on our enquiry form is provided by Cloudflare, and we have not been able to test it with assistive technology. If you have any difficulty with it, email us instead at support@sfedi.co.uk.

Documents

Some pages offer documents to download. We aim to make new documents accessible, and to publish the main content of every document as a web page as well. If you need a document in a format you can use, contact us.

Asking for information in a different format

If you need information on this website in a different format, such as accessible PDF, large print, plain text or audio, email support@sfedi.co.uk. Tell us the web address of the page, your name and email address, and the format you need. We will reply within 5 working days.

Reporting accessibility problems

We are always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find a problem that is not listed on this page, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, email support@sfedi.co.uk. We will reply within 5 working days and tell you what we will do about it.

If you are not happy with our response

If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) (opens in a new tab) in England, Scotland or Wales, or the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (opens in a new tab).

Technical information

SFEDI is committed to making this website accessible, in line with our duties under the Equality Act 2010.

The website was built with an accessible component library. We are working towards meeting WCAG 2.2 level AA in full.

How we tested this website

This website was partly tested on 30 October 2026 by SFEDI. We checked headings, links, colour contrast and page width, at desktop and phone sizes, on the Privacy notice, Cookies and Accessibility statement pages. We have not yet tested with a screen reader, using a keyboard only, or at 400% zoom.
